Construction
Frames and Endshields:
Stator frames and endshields are made from high grade cast iron for exceptional strength and corrosion resistance. They are accurately machined to close tolerance in order to ensure rigid alignment and minimum vibration.
Cooling system:
Cooling fins are cast integrally with frame and endshields. High airflow external fans assure low temperature rise to give an extended motor life, also a low noise level.
Fan and fan Cowl:
Polypropylene fans are fitted for frames from D63 to D160, also D180 - 2P.
Cast iron fans are used on larger frame sizes.
Bearings and Lubrication System:
Anti-friction double shielded, pre-packed with lithium-base Alvania No. 3 grease ball bearings are used on frames D63 to D180 (except 2 pole).
Frames 180 (2 pole) to D315 have grease nipples and grease relief valves.
Shaft:
The motor shaft material is made of medium carbon steel. Special keyway and shaft extensions are available on request.
Rotor Assembly:
The rotor core is made of low loss high grade electro-magnetic steel lamination. The rotor bars are pressure die-cast of high conductivity aluminium and cast integrally with end rings and wafter fan blades. All rotor assemblies are dynamically balanced and surface is treated with corrosion-free coating.
Stator, Windings and Insultation System:
Stator laminations are built of High grade, insulated, cold-rolled electro-magnetic steel for high efficiency. Type AEEB motor's standard insulation class is F with B temperature rise. Heavy coated, heat an dmoisture resistance polyester enameled copper wire are used for stator winding.
Terminal Box
Cable entry to the terminal box can be adjusted to any one of the four positions at 90 degree intervals.
The terminal box is mounted on the right hand side of the motor when viewed from shaft end, as standard. this can be changed by reversing the rotor assembly.
Cast Iron terminal boxes are for standard motors
Nameplate:
Nameplates are made of corrosion-free stainless steel.
Hardware:
All hardware is electro zinc plated for better corrosion resistance.
Finish:
All inside exposed surfaces are cleaned and applied with rust-proof coating.
Outside exterior is painted with phenolic rustproof base and then a lacquer surface finishing of Blue-Gray colour (Munsell 7.5 BG4/2).
Testing:
On-line routine tests and comlete tests are made according to BS4999 and AS1359 testing procedures.
